Why is there so little interest in this site. Is it because active track racing ceased there some 35 years ago and it has become a forgotten place so far as racing is concerned. Despite its years of glory as a track Crystal Palace has become a forgotten race venue, whereas 'the other London race venue' at Brooklands still has strong forum boards in regard to it. Why is there this difference in regard to interest?

Further to my previous message: this is just one section of the many forums that are dedicated to Brooklands - and good luck to them - whereas Crystal Palace is very much a forgotten place in racing annals. www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/events/

Judged by the response to the initial query - the answer at the moment appears to be a massive "...we don't give a S..t about the group!"

When one reflects how much happened at the Crystal Palace race circuit over the years this seems incredible. Just what does this forum lack?

I had a nose round the palace recently and to the casual visitor there is absolutely nothing in regard to racing at the palace where the likes of Brooklands have a museum stuffed with cars/bikes and such like, which helps in part to create a focus and interest in the circuit. From my experience of researching motorsport at the palace, there is loads of history/interest, which unfortunately is scattered around the net. The foundation created to promote the palace is in the main glass building centric.

There is a Crystal Palace Museum - I think at the top near the Parade - which does have a few small items in regard to the various motor sports that took place there but sadly no major complex dedicated to the halcyon car racing era.

It is hard to visualise that until 35 years ago (1972) that it was home to so much motorsport activity and, at one time, way back in the VERY EARLY 1930s such a bastion for both speedway and midget car racing?
